Metal-Shell ODVA-Compliant connectors are IP67-rated and feature Zamak zinc-alloy metal shell for maximized mechanical strength. Meeting Category 5e performance requirements, 8-position connectors operate in temperatures from -40 to +85°C. Units feature quick-turn bayonet coupling and positive locking ring, that meet requirement of IEC 61076-3-106 Variant 1, and UV-resistant HBT sealing gaskets. They are available in plugs or receptacles, either shielded or unshielded.

Tyco Electronics Announces Metal-Shell IP67 Industrial Ethernet Connectors
- Increased Ruggedness for Harshest Environments -
HARRISBURG, Pa. - July 10, 2009 - A new IP67-Rated Metal-Shell ODVA-Compliant connector from Tyco Electronics allows Industrial Ethernet to be applied in the most rugged environments. The Zamak zinc-alloy metal shell gives additional mechanical strength, while the IP67 sealing protects the interface from liquids, gases, and other contaminants. The connectors meet Category 5e performance requirements.
The 8-position connectors are available in plugs or receptacles, either shielded or unshielded, with end caps additionally available to protect unmated connectors. The quick-turn bayonet coupling and positive locking ring, which meet the requirement of IEC 61076-3-106 Variant 1, help provide reliable connections under harshest conditions. The HBT sealing gaskets are UV resistant. The connectors have an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C.
The new Metal-Shell connectors join the expanding lineup of IP67-rated, ODVA-compliant performance connectors suited for EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, and ControlNet applications. The metal-shell versions are particularly suited to applications requiring extra mechanical and environmental robustness-including industrial machinery, diagnostic equipment, communications equipment, outdoor signs, and theatrical audio/visual equipment for live outdoor events.
Standard-length cable assemblies are also available as part of the offering.
