New 2 U IPC with PICMG 1.3
Munich, August 2009 - The new 19-inch 2 U industrial computer from DSM Computer's Infinity® "96M1584E" family is predestined for industrial applications that require highest performance but subject to space constraints. The IPC is equipped with a slot CPU on the basis of the DSM "Modular-World®" concept, for example, based on a fast Intel® Core(TM) 2 Duo processor with 3.0 GHz clock frequency and the Intel® Q35 and ICH9R chip set. The user memory can be expanded to have a maximum capacity of 4 GB. Main application areas of the new industrial computer are to be found in metrology, telecommunications, renewable energy technology and automation.
The internal Intel® GMA 3100 graphic chip is ideally suited for visualization tasks in the industrial environment. To optimize the industrial computer to the associated application, a wide range of connection possibilities is provided: Dual-GigaBit LAN, up to four USB 2.0 two serial interfaces and a parallel interface. For data storage, the IPC is equipped with a 250 GB SATA quality hard disk and a slimline DVD drive. A RAID group is possible when several hard disks are required.
Three 80 mm fans ensure the optimum cooling of the robust system. Accessible from the front, both a 5.25 inch and a 3.5 inch drive slot are present in the 2 U system. The PICMG 1.3 (PCI Express) bus circuit board provides four slots for system expansion: One PCI Express x1, one PCI Express x16 and two PCI slots.
To increase the system availability, the industrial computer can be supplied optionally with the DSMP® PC condition monitoring software. DSMP® allows various operating parameters, such as the processor temperature, the supply voltage, the fan speed and the status of the hard disks, to be monitored permanently.
