C-Labs Delivers New IoT Cloud Capabilities

Industrial automation Internet of Things (IoT) growth drives demand for company's latest solutions showcased at Hannover Messe 2015.

New OPC Relay supports Microsoft Azure, handles over 100-million data events per day.

REDMOND, Wash. -- C-Labs LLC, a connectivity software provider for the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced the availability of new products to simplify the creation of industrial automation IoT solutions. The new products can be seen at Hannover Messe, the world's largest industrial trade show, in Hannover, Germany from April 13-17, 2015.

"Demand for industrial IoT solutions is accelerating, and customer interest has prompted us to bring new capabilities to market more quickly," said John Traynor, C-Labs COO, amid preparations for the Hannover event.

Together with Beckhoff, ICONICS, Kuka Robotics, and Microsoft Corp., C-Labs is demonstrating how IoT and cloud services unlock new business value from industrial equipment. The fully functional solution uses OPC UA to monitor robotic assembly and streams live data to Azure IoT services for analytics and machine learning. The system simultaneously creates work orders in SharePoint Online when anomalous conditions are detected. Real-time data and control functions are immediately accessible from remote and mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets.

The solution is on display at Hannover Messe in the Microsoft booth (Hall 7, stand C48). C-Labs products are also on display at the OPC Foundation pod in the Microsoft booth and at the main OPC Foundation booth (Hall 9, stand A11).

"Industrial automation customers are looking for partner companies delivering IoT solutions that address business demands while minimizing technical complexity," said Caglayan Arkan, General Manager, Worldwide Manufacturing and Resources Sector, Microsoft. "C-Labs has delivered a compelling example of what is possible with Windows Embedded, Azure IoT services and SharePoint Online."

"Conventional M2M and IoT solutions bypass corporate networks. C-Labs embraces working with enterprise IT organizations," said Chris Muench, C-Labs CEO. "Our mission is to deliver solutions that meet the needs of both operations technology and information technology groups."

C-Labs new OPC Relay supporting Azure provides improved security with easy-to-deploy cloud connectivity for storage, big data analytics, and machine learning. The product has proven capable of delivering over 100-million data events per day in a 24x7 industrial environment, in full compliance with standard enterprise IT requirements and policies. Also being introduced are C-Labs OPC Client and C-Labs OPC Server, which connect to industrial equipment supporting the global OPC UA standard. According to OPC Foundation, over 4,200 suppliers and more than 35,000 industrial products support OPC protocols.
