New Long-Life Induction Motor Saves Costs

DOVER, NH USA -- EADmotors' AC inverter duty induction motor now boasts higher quality design features for longer life expectancy. The improved version of the motor saves overall costs while offering a viable alternative to DC motors in variable speed applications.

This inverter duty motor operates at 230VAC with a standard three-phase AC inverter drive. Variable speed operation from 550-4400rpm optimizes control, significantly improving system throughput. Configured in two or four-pole designs, power output is rated at 1/6-1/2HP and 1/10-1/3HP with fundamental frequencies from 10-80Hz and 20-120Hz respectively. A 1/2-in. diameter shaft extension provides for heavy-duty load connections without compromising performance. The four-bolt face mount design provides easy installation.

The size 39 frame motor features an open frame housing and internal fan to prevent overheating in demanding operating cycles. A double varnish cycle maximizes magnet wire life. Motor bearing currents are eliminated with an electrically insulated rotor. A center-tap Class-F thermal protector is added for safety.

Contributing to long bearing life are these features; two-plane rotor balance, calibrated bearing pre-load and high temperature synthetic grease.

A variety of engineered options suit customer application requirements including extended shafts, shafts with double ends, special cables and lead wires, connectors and mounting options.

This long-life motor performs reliably in a variety of industrial and commercial applications where a combination of variable speed, high power and precise control are desirable. Specific applications include air moving equipment and pumps and other applications requiring variable speed performance.
