March 17, 2004 - Induction Motor features anodized aluminum, Size 44 housing finished with 3 mil thick exterior grade paint for protection against corrosion. Flanged mount, custom shaft and tightly sealed interfaces make motor watertight. Dynamically balanced rotors with calibrated bearing pre-load provide smooth, stable operation. Configured with 2 or 4 poles, motor achieves operating speeds up to 3450 rpm. It is rated up to 60 Hz and provides power output from 1/20 to 1/2 hp.

New Watertight Induction Motor Performs in Harsh Environments

DOVER, NH -- EADmotors' new Induction motor meets NEMA 4X (IP66) enclosure specifications. The new motor design incorporates several high quality construction features to ensure dependable operation and long service life in harsh environment applications.

The Size 44 motor housings are made from anodized aluminum and are finished with 3-mil thick exterior grade paint to provide added long term protection against corrosion. The flanged mount, custom shaft design and tightly sealed interfaces make this motor dependably watertight. Dynamically balanced rotors with calibrated bearing pre-load provide extra smooth, stable operation and extended motor life.

Configured with 2 or 4 poles, the motor achieves operating speeds up to 3450 rpm. Rated up to 60Hz, it provides power output from 1/20 to 1/2HP. Voltage is rated from 115 to 230. Options for the size 44 include custom windings, multi-pole counts, voltages, frequencies, cables, connectors, flange mounts and shaft modifications. Motors are also capable of inverter duty rating for variable speed applications.

This motor's performance is impervious to all types of weather including ice formation on the enclosure, falling dirt, dust and even hose-directed water. Ideally suited for indoor or outdoor harsh environment applications, this motor is recommended for all types of pump applications.
