June 5, 2003 - Multi-G determines impact level encountered in shipping situations, and packaging requirements to minimize product damage. Unit houses 3 clip sensitivities including 25, 50, and 75 G in single unit measuring 1.375 x 1.875 in. Clips turn bright red when subjected to any impact that exceeds pre-set threshold limit and can be applied with or without companion warning label to products, packages, cartons, bottles, or other containers.

Shipping Impact Diagnostic Tool

Multi-G is the name of a diagnostic tool for determining impact levels encountered in shipping situations and the packaging requirements to minimize product damage. Multi-G will also determine the correct sensitivity level range needed for the protection of a continual program utilizing damage prevention indicators. Multi-G is an ideal precursor for the application of Shockwatch Clips or Labels. They turn bright red when subjected to any impact that exceeds a pre-set threshold limit and can be applied with (or without) a companion warning label to nearly any product, package, carton, bottle or other container. The Multi-G houses three clip sensitivities (25G-50G-75G) in a single unit mount (1.375" wide x 1.875" Ht.) The multi-reading indicators were conceived to conduct drop-testing in a controlled environment or in actual shipping situations (by process of elimination and comparison to reported product damage) to determine future packaging or Shockwatch Clip or Label sensitivity needs.

The even more economical Shockwatch clip is a single sensor only with a single threshold limit (in plastic housing for "peel-n-stick" mounting). Indicators are available in five (5) different sensitivity or impact threshold levels. The innocuous Shockwatch Clips are often placed directly on products themselves for continual monitoring in-house (work-in-process/storage) or in-transit for shipped goods, thus affording the product additional protection and indication of rough handling after the product has been removed from the shipping container. Impact (bumping, jolting, dropping, etc.) exceeding the selected threshold level, in any direction, will leave an unmistakable, lasting warning sign of abuse, mishandling or mishap that can not be erased, disguised or hidden. Initial testing or a program based on Multi-G will determine which of the five (5) threshold levels is the best and most economical choice for an ongoing product-shipment protection program.

The Shockwatch Companion Label with Sensor Clip, primarily used on the outside of packages, containers or crates, is the first line of defense against rough handling. A Shockwatch Label is comprised of the sensor and a colorful warning label that surrounds and holds the sensor. Actual user testimony shows the high visibility, and awareness of Shockwatch monitoring, is by itself a strong deterrent to rough handling. When shipping problems occur, the Shockwatch can help pinpoint the source of mishandling and improve claims recovery.

A Shockwatch spokesperson reported the entire family of labels and clips are the basis of "The Shockwatch Loss Prevention Program", designed to minimize shipping problems and deliver a quality message with a wide variety of consumer and industrial goods, such as, but not limited to: impact sensitive items- avionics, computers, electronics, furniture, calibrated machinery, medical instrumentation, optics and military ordnance. Shockwatch® is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, where they innovate, manufacture and market one of the industrial world's broadest selections of products dedicated to the prevention of handling, shipping or storage problems. Product distribution is through a worldwide sales force and a network of strategic partners and resellers.
