DeWalt Introduces 18V Heavy-duty Impact Wrench

-- Provides Professional Contractors with Improved Ergonomics, Control and Durability for a Wide Range of Applications --

August 2007 - DeWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, introduced its 18V heavy-duty high performance impact wrench (DC821KA), providing users with optimized ergonomics, enhanced control features and improved durability. The DC821KA is an ideal solution for deck builders who need the power to drive lag screws, for overhead door installers who require constant-duty durability in a lightweight package and for sprinkler fitters who need a tool with enough control to complete tightening and loosening applications with bolt and nut combinations.

Power and Runtime
The DC821KA is equipped with a high power DeWALT-built motor with replaceable brushes. This motor delivers increased levels of performance, durability and serviceability. Additionally, a heavy-duty impact mechanism delivers 148 ft-lbs of MAX torque, allowing end users to complete demanding jobsite applications. The high speed all-metal transmission delivers 0-2,100 RPM, providing increased productivity over a wide-range of applications. The DC821KA is powered by the DeWALT 18V cordless battery system, which provides users with superior cycle life and runtime.

Control
For increased control, DeWALT built the new impact wrench with an electric brake, helping to prevent users from completely backing out of applications and losing fasteners when working overhead or in elevated areas. Additionally, a variable speed reversing switch gives users added control when setting and removing fasteners, increasing productivity on the jobsite.

Durability
DeWALT designed this lightweight and compact impact wrench with high-torque durability, allowing users to consistently drive lags screws and bolts up 7/8". To help to prevent the socket from breaking, the DC821KA has a 1/2" square detent-pin anvil, creating reliable socket retention.

Ergonomics
The DC821KA is a lightweight and compact wrench, ideal for completing heavy-duty applications that require a lighter alternative to other full-size wrenches available on the market. With a length of 7-5/8" and a weight of 5.3 lbs, the compact size and weight allow users to access tighter areas and easily complete overhead applications. For increased comfort and control, the impact wrench features a textured anti-slip comfort grip.
