Ignitor Shut-Off Device works with magnetic HID Ballasts.

January 19, 2006 - Used in High Pressure Sodium and Metal Halide lamp applications, LISOD ignitor shut-off device disables ignitor to prevent it from continuously pulsing when lamp fails to start. Auto shut-off feature turns off ignitor at lamp's end-of-life to prevent nuisance lamp cycling and facilitate lamp outage identification. Device automatically resets when mains power is off for 0.6 sec or longer. Requiring 120 V power, it does not drain power from lamp, enabling full light output.

Advance Introduces Revolutionary New LISOD Ignitor Shut-Off Device for CWA, High Reactance, and Reactor Ballasts

(December 20th, 2005 - Rosemont, Illinois) Advance announces the introduction of its revolutionary new LISOD ignitor shut-off device for magnetic HID Ballasts.
Ideal for roadway lighting, street lighting, factory/warehouse settings, and a range of other High Pressure Sodium and Metal Halide lamp applications that utilize an ignitor, Advance's exclusive LISOD ignitor shut-off device enhances the reliability of High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting systems. In the event that a lamp fails to start, the technology disables the ignitor and prevents it from continuously pulsing, protecting and extending the life of both the ignitor and ballast. Advance's LISOD ignitor shut-off device also incorporates an auto shut-off feature which automatically turns off the ignitor at lamp end-of-life, preventing nuisance lamp cycling and enabling easier identification of lamp outages for maintenance purposes. In addition, the device automatically resets when mains power is off for 0.6 seconds or longer, rendering it ready once again to disable the ignitor the next time the lamp cycles off.

Because Advance's new LISOD ignitor shut-off device requires 120V power (which is available either directly from the mains (120V line) or from the 120V tap of a multi-volt ballast), it does not rob power from the lamp and enables full light output. Additionally, the device's compact size and 90°C maximum case temperature rating help deliver flexibility and long life in high temperature applications.

Advance's LISOD ignitor shut-off device can be used with any Advance CWA, High Reactance, or Reactor ballasts that have a 120V tap. Safe, reliable, and available in a single all-purpose package to enhance ease of installation and ordering, Advance's versatile ignitor shut-off device minimizes maintenance concerns and represents a versatile solution for a wide variety of HID lighting applications.

The catalog numbers for Advance's new LISOD ignitor shut-off device are LISOD1 (bulk packaging) and LISOD1-IC (individual carton packaging).

Advance, a leading ballast manufacturer based in Rosemont, Illinois, offers a full line of electronic and magnetic fluorescent and magnetic and electronic HID ballasts as well as a broad family of drivers for LED light sources.
