October 29, 2009 - Powered by one 9 V alkaline battery, Model CA879 uses non-contact, 1 mW (670 nm type) laser targeting feature to measure temperatures from -58° to +1,022°F with resolution of 0.1°F from -58° to +200°F and 1°F beyond. Unit is designed for single-handed operation and measures temperature in °F or °C. Along with 12:1 field of vision ratio and fixed 0.95 emissivity, meter offers Auto-HOLD function, 2000-count backlit LCD, and 400 ms response time.

    The Infrared Thermometer Model CA879 is a non-contact temperature measuring instrument. It provides precision measurement using a laser target feature. To measure the temperature of an object, simply point the gun at the surface of the object, press the trigger and the temperature will appear on the digital display. The thermometer has an automatic shut-off feature. Shut-off will occur approximately 10 seconds after the trigger is released.
