Samtec Introduces Low Cost Rugged Flat Cable IDC System

Samtec has recently added a new Tiger Beam IDC Cable (TLSD Series) to its rugged IDC Cable line. The TLSD assembly has an optional strain relief system for rugged high reliability applications, it also features Samtec's Tiger Beam one-point, Post and Beam contacts resulting in a highly reliable, but cost-efficient alternative to Samtec's 2mm (.0787") Tiger Eye IDC Cable (TCSD Series) which uses a high performance four-finger contact system.

The low profile Tiger Beam IDC Cable is a 2mm (.0787") pitch socket system with a choice of up to 25 pins per row. It mates with a variety of standard Samtec 2mm (.0787") Headers and Stackers including shrouded, low profile and modified surface mount and through-hole options.

The 28 AWG flat cable IDC system is available single or double ended and in a choice of lengths. Standard options include conductor breakouts, daisy chains, reverse wiring, reverse notches, notch polarization, as well as reversed, middle reverse, or outside reverse options.

Prices vary by number of contacts and length of cable; most start at $ .10 per contact, per assembly.
