January 2, 2002 - Model 60R passive/inductive ID system features M30 tubular housing and provides non-contact part tracking on machinery and conveyors. EEPROM data carriers store up to 2000 bytes of information without batteries. Tubular head reads 1 byte of information from passive/inductive data carriers, delivering 1 of 256 combinations to machine control. System interfaces with PLCs through discrete I/O points.

New Low-Cost Inductive ID System Integrates Sensing Head And Processor Into Compact Tubular Housing For Product Tracking In Confined Spaces

M30 tubular heads install as easy as proxes, provide quick read-only tracking of setup or history information from data carriers mounted on tools, totes, pallets or parts

November 2001 - Balluff makes product tracking on tight-fit machines easy and affordable with its new 60R non-contact passive/inductive ID system. The 60R integrates sensing head andci processor into a compact M30 tubular housing to provide non-contact part tracking duties on machinery and conveyors where space for auxiliary devices is limited.

The 60R's M30 head inductively reads critical process information from encapsulated data carriers mounted on tools. totes, pallets or parts. The rugged EEPROM data carriers
are available in a variety of configurations and can store up to 2000 bytes of information without batteries. The tubular head reads one byte of information from the passive/inductive data carriers, delivering one of 256 combinations to the machilne control. Data carriers are immune to virtually every hostile condition likely to be encountered in machining, material handling and automated manufacturing.

The system interfaces easily with PLCs through discrete I/O points. The cable-out heads are powered by 24VDC and have nickel-plated brass housings sealed to IP67. A helpful status LED alerts to error and data-valid conditions.
