New Modular EASi/oN System From Hirschmann Reduces Time And Costs For Installation, Training, And Maintenance Of Common Fieldbus I/O Systems

Pine Brook, NJ, January 2002 - The new EASi/oN Modular Field Bus I/O system from Hirschmann Electronics Inc., Automation and Network Solutions provides network designers and installers with a flexible, tool-free means to connect peripherals and other
components used in industrial automation. By combining plug-in bridging blocks, power feed, field bus connection, connecting cables to the peripherals, along with integrated module catches and standard DIN rail mounting, EASi/oN requires no special tools or electrical training for connection and disconnection even in an IP67 environment.

In addition, the modular system permits complete I/O systems to be removed from the circuit without removal of other field bus subscribers. EASi/oN works with most common field busses such as DeviceNet, Profibus and CAN and uses standard M12 plug (Micro-
style) connections for peripherals.

EASi/oN's design offers flexibility in the selection of power supplies, so sensors and actuator power supplies may be cabled separately. Its rugged case allows reading of I/O signal designations and their status even in cramped, horizontal or vertical installations through the use of a slanted legend surface.

Pricing for EASi/oN begins at $522 per unit. Delivery is from stock.
