Intended for OEMs and system integrators, 1010 - PhidgetInterfaceKit 8/8/8 Mini-Format delivers all 1018 - InterfaceKit 8/8/8 functionality from DIP-36 package that can be inserted in socket or soldered to user's own board. It lets users connect devices to any of 8 analog inputs, 8 digital inputs, and 8 digital outputs, providing generic means to interface end-user system with various devices. Users can program Phidgets via API supported under Windows® and Linux and write programs in various programming languages.

Phidgets Shrinks the InterfaceKit 8/8/8 Functionality into a Small DIP-36 Package
Intended for OEM and System Integrators, the 1010 can be inserted in a socket or soldered to a user's own board.
CALGARY, Alberta - Phidgets Inc. released today the 1010 PhidgetInterfaceKit 8/8/8 Mini-Format which squeezes all the 1018 - InterfaceKit 8/8/8 functionality into a small DIP-36 package. The product is intended for system integrators and OEMs who are already familiar with the 1018 and require a smaller package to integrate into their design.
"In order to achieve the small format, we had to remove all connectors and this becomes a major differentiating factor between the 1018 and the 1010. The 1010 is definitely not plug and play. " says Chester Fitchett, CEO of Phidgets.
"Our users who integrate Phidgets into their own products like our ease of programming, but complained about the labour required to wire everything together. The 1010 is our first foray into a parallel line of Phidgets intended for low to mid volume manufacturing." added Bernard Rousseau, Director of Marketing

Users can program Phidgets using a simple yet powerful and well documented Application Programming Interfade (API) that is supported under Windows (2000, XP, Vista), Windows CE, Mac OS X, and Linux. Users can write programs in Visual Basic, VB.NET, C#, C/C++, Flash/Flex, Java, Labview, Matlab, ActionScript 3.0, and Cocoa.
Phidgets also provides programming examples for all its products to help programmers write their own programs. The API Libraries as well as the examples and the documentation are available at no charge on Phidgets.com.
