4A24 16 bit 200/500 KHz A-D for PC/104 bus
The 4A24 is a high resolution, high speed, low cost DSP based A-D card for the PC/104 bus. 200 KHz (4A24-2) and 500 Khz (4A24-5) models are available. On card EEPROM calibration storage and fully digital zero and span calibration eliminates potentiometers and simplifies circuitry for low cost and high performance.
A high bandwidth instrumentation amplifier is used for the input. 16 single ended or 8 differential inputs are provided via the input multiplexor. A 0 to 5V unipolar range and +- 2.5V and +- 5V bipolar ranges are jumper selectable.
Input channel scan sequence, averaging option, raw/calibrated data choice, and autozero option are determined by a built-in 1024 entry function table. The input averaging option allows from 2 to 128 samples to be averaged per channel to reduce input
noise and PC/104 bus usage. Converted data is placed in a 128K word sample FIFO so that host latency requirements are relaxed. Conversions can be started by the high resolution 24 bit, 50 MHz timer, an external start convert input, or the host processor. A conversion counter allows a burst of timed conversions to be started by the external start input or host processor.
24 general purpose digital I/O bits are provided. Each I/O bit can be individually programmed to be an input or output. Outputs can sink 24 mA. Optional pullups are provided for all I/O bits.
