Hydraulic press is 2-axis system that utilizes Delta Motion Controller and Micrologix 1100 to provide synchronized application of vertical and horizontal force. Pressure is controlled to within ±5% and ram position is accurate within .005 in. Operator interface includes 10 in. color screen and Ethernet connections allow for PLC/HMI communications. System features 20-ton vertical and 5-ton horizontal cylinders with ramp time of 30-60 sec and dwell time from 5 sec to 2 min.

2-Axis Hydraulic Press Delivers Pinpoint Accuracy
Phoenix has developed a versatile 2-axis press that provides exceptional accuracy with precisely controlled vertical and horizontal cylinders. Originally developed for the pharmaceutical industry, the press has a wide variety of applications for forming, compaction, and compression processes, as well as R&D and quality testing.
Operating in a pressure-over-time mode, the press employs a Delta Motion Controller and a Micrologix 1100 to provide synchronized application of vertical and horizontal force on the end product. Pressure is controlled to within ± 5 percent. Ramp, dwell time and ram speed are individually controllable for each cylinder. Ram position is accurate within .005 inches. Process recipes are accessed through a Panel View operator interface with a 10" color screen. PLC/HMI communications are provided through Ethernet connections.
The heart of the press consists of a 20 ton vertical and a 5 ton horizontal cylinder. The cylinders operate in a force-over time-mode as selected in the operator interface. The ramp time for each cylinder is 30 to 60 seconds, with a dwell time ranging from 5 seconds to 2 minutes.
The press can be configured for various tonnages, frame designs, and control packages.
