Touch International Expands Resistive Multi-Touch Up to 17 Inches

Boosting its resistive multi-touch capabilities, touch screen manufacturer, Touch International, announced today the expansion of its Multi-Touch Analog Resistive (MARS) touch screen line to include touch panels up to 17 inches in diagonal.

Marrying traditional pressure sensing resistive technology, with the true multi-touch performance of projected capacitive, the hybrid touch screen series delivers impeccable performance, strong reliability and flexible input options. Providing users with up to 10 simultaneous touch points and multi-touch gesturing, MARS systems deliver unparalleled flexibility and allow input with fingers, thick gloves and any pointing device, making them excellent for military, industrial and medical applications.

"Our resistive multi-touch systems are an ideal choice for a lot of our customers who want the option of multi-touch, but require the versatile input capabilities of resistive," explains Michael Woolstrum, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder, Touch International. "Expanding the MARS series to fit displays up to 17 inches gives our customers the option to go bigger and explore new application opportunities."

The MARS technology is also available in a 10.4 inch touch screen developer kit to give OEMs and system integrators a chance to test and interact with the technology prior to receiving the completed product. Utilizing the developer kit also shortens the project's time to market, allowing software development to begin before the prototype is finalized.

Like Touch International's MulTI-Touch Projected Capacitive series, MARS touch screens and electronics can be fully customized based on customer specifications to allow for low-profile designs, rugged durability, enhanced optics and more.

"The beauty of Touch International is that we can not only deliver the touch screen and electronics, but the whole picture. From cover glass and printed graphics, to display enhancements, optical bonding and touch screen integration, Touch International brings the whole display together in one place to insure that everything works in harmony, saving our customers time and money," says Woolstrum.
