Kärcher Introduces Super Fuel-Efficient, High-Volume, Hot Water Pressure Washer

Karcher, the world's largest manufacturer of pressure washers, has introduced exclusively to the Canadian market the first-ever dual-burner, high-volume hot water pressure washer that is so fuel efficient that a unit could pay for itself in fuel savings within two to three years.

These new industrial-duty, skid-mounted pressure washers are designed for the cleaning professional and feature a flow rate of up to 10.3 gallons per minute (2340 liters per hour) and are capable of producing true 200°F (93.3°C) hot water (a 140°F/60°C temperature rise). They also come standard with a wet-steam stage, which is often needed to clean synthetic greases and oils.

These high-powered cleaning machines are ideal for cleaning heavy equipment and trucks, washing oil field equipment, and even thawing frozen culverts.

The units are powered by either air-cooled 24 HP Honda or water-cooled 27 HP Kawasaki gasoline engines; diesel-powered models feature a liquid-cooled 27 HP Kohler/Lombardini diesel engine. All four models are configured so two operators can use the same pressure washer simultaneously and deliver a high-pressure spray of up to 3000 PSI (pounds per square inch) for even faster, high-impact cleaning.

All four models of the high-volume pressure washers feature Karcher's patented, super-efficient, dual-pass heating system that produces 92+% heat-transfer efficiency as compared to 60% to 70% found in most hot water pressure washers today. This efficiency is translated directly into fuel savings, in some cases as high as 30%.

Karcher, which invented the hot water pressure washer in the 1950's, has perfected the heating of water under high pressure with several patented innovations that deliver the 92+% heating efficiency. Among the innovations: [1] a high-efficiency burner shoots the flame down onto a firebrick floor that deflects the heat evenly back up and around the coil tubing; [2] a double-pass coil forces the water to pass through the heating chamber twice; and [3] outside air is used to create a thermal insulation barrier around the heating coil while simultaneously pre-heating the air for optimum combustion.

As with all German-engineered Karcher pressure washers, these new models come with many safety features such as Karcher's popular anti-scale system that minimizes the build-up of deposits in the heating coil, low-fuel shut-off that protects the burner fuel pump, and high-temperature thermal relieve valve to protect the pump and operator
Karcher equipment is ergonomically designed providing hours of fatigue-free cleaning and, thanks to a unique pulsation dampener system, the hammering effect associated with most power cleaning equipment has been virtually eliminated.

Karcher pressure washers are also environmentally friendly with their super-low emissions due to Karcher's high-efficiency heating system and much more efficient use of water versus using a garden hose alone which sales you time and money

Karcher is the world's largest manufacturer of pressure washers with worldwide headquarters in Germany and has more than 300 patents on high-pressure cleaning equipment. The North American headquarters for the industrial pressure washer division is located in Camas, Washington, near Portland, Oregon.

In May 2008, Karcher was the only pressure washer used to clean the Seattle Space Needle. And in the summer of 2005 Karcher was chosen to give America's most recognizable national monument, Mount Rushmore, its first-ever high-pressure facelift.
