Athena Controls to Unveil New Mainframe-style Hot Runner Controllers at the K'2004 International Trade Fair of Plastics and Rubber
PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA; ÂAthena Controls, Inc. (Athena) will unveil its new Series RMB and RMC line of mainframe-style Hot Runner Controllers at the 16th triennial K'2004 International Trade Fair of Plastics and Rubber. Taking place at the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Centre, October 20-27, 2004 in Düsseldorf, Germany, the K'2004 is the world's largest showcase for plastics and rubber materials and machinery. 2,900 international exhibitors are expected to attend, 150 of which will be U.S. companies.
The Athena Series RMB Control Module, with Digital Current Display (DCD), allows operators to view process temperature and current reading simultaneously. Energizing the display keys allows users to toggle through percent output and to adjust setpoint temperature. This microprocessor-based, single-zone temperature controller is specifically designed for runnerless molding applications. It features an easy-to-use operator keypad, two LED displays, and three discrete indicators for heat-current, alarm and manual mode.
SERIES RMB CONTROL MODULE FEATURES INCLUDE:
o Compatible with existing Athena "G+" and DME "G" Series mainframes
o Accepts Type J or Type K thermocouple input (jumper selectable)
o Auto-tuning, with adjustable proportional band and rate

The Athena Series RMC Control Module, with Adjustable Current Limit (ACL), allows operators to adjust the current trip from 1 amp through 15 amps, providing better heater protection. Using the popular Modbus® communications protocol, the next-generation Series RMC Control Module gives users the ability to set or change all zones, either remotely from a desktop computer, from a Palm® handheld device, or (with the ALL command) from any other individual RMC module in the mainframe.
