Versatile Horizontal Bread Cutter Maximizes Production

(Columbus, Ohio) Grote's new horizontal bread cutter is a dual lane, stainless steel unit designed to horizontally cut virtually all types of fresh sandwich breads and rolls, including croissants, breakfast biscuits, bagels, sub buns and panini. The unit is ideal for in-line cutting of fresh breads and rolls and transferring them to a sandwich assembly conveyor for ingredient and topping placement to maximize production.

Cut height is fully adjustable between 1/2" and 1 1/2" and height adjustment is easily accomplished with the turn of a simple mechanical hand wheel. In addition to a 12" wide product transfer belt, the horizontal bread cutter includes an independently driven upper feed belt to maintain positive pressure on each bread top during the cutting process. This positive pressure holds the bread in place for optimal cutting quality over a wide range of bread types and sizes.

Grote's patented Accuband® Band Blade System maximizes cutting efficiency. The Accuband system cuts with a 1/2" wide razor sharp band blade running continuously between two pulleys. These disposable blades eliminate the need for resharpening and simplify the cleanup process.

The horizontal bread cutter is completely portable and guarding is hinged to allow easy access for cleaning, maintenance and blade changes. Options include an independent outfeed belt for creating gaps between sliced breads after they are discharged, as well as customized tooling to knock bread tops either behind or to the side of each bread bottom. The versatility of Grote's new horizontal bread cutter makes it ideal for sandwich operations that cut and assemble a wide range of bread types.
