Original Press Release:

New Model, 1340 Provides Safe and Efficient AC Hipot Testing with High Output Power to Test High Capacitance Products

Lake Forest, Illinois, February 2005 - Announced today by Slaughter Company is the addition of the 1340 to their complete line of Hipot testers. The 1340 is a 2.5 KV AC Hipot tester that provides 40 mA of test current. With its higher output power, the 1340 is ideal for testing high capacitance products such as manufactured and modular homes.

The 1340 incorporates microprocessor control which increases the reliability of the tester. Its easy-to-use navigation menus allow users to intuitively set-up test parameters and the LED display found on the 1340 provides a clear reading of parameters and results. The electronic ramp and dwell timers allow the 1340 to provide more consistent testing. For those users, who need to run their tests remotely, the 1340 features an enhanced PLC remote control. Featured in this remote is a safety interlock that allows users to enhance the safety of their testing workstation by interlocking the high voltage output to a safety feature such as a hooded enclosure. A user selectable pulse mode allows the 1340 to continuously output 2.5 KV of AC test voltage with 10 mA of test current. The output will automatically reset after detecting a failure allowing for continuous testing. Pulse mode while not acceptable for routine production line testing is very useful for troubleshooting the location of a failure as it continues to flash over at the failure point. Lastly, the 1340 is available with optional continuity testing for those users who need to perform continuity tests as called out in many agency specifications as a required safety test.

The 1340 combines Slaughter's proven product reliability with the right technology and features to allow users to cost-effectively run safe and efficient electrical safety testing workstations.

For over 50 years, Slaughter Company has been providing innovative, dependable and cost-effective solutions for electrical safety testing. For sales contact info@hipot.com.
