Spellman High Voltage Announces the Expansion of Its XRV Series with 1.8 kW Models

Highly Stable X-Ray Generator specifically designed for use with HP and HPX XRAY Tubes in Digital Radiograph and Industrial CT applications.

Hauppauge, New York - Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation announces the release of four new 1.8kW XRV series units with output voltages of 160kV, 225kV, 320kV and 450kV. These power supplies are designed for DR and Industrial CT applications and power the full range of HP and HPX families of X-Ray tubes.

These unique X-Ray tubes provide increased resolution in high speed digital imaging systems used in demanding industrial applications by providing larger X-Ray doses on small focal spots.

Spellman's new 1.8kW XRV units optimize performance of HP/HPX tubes by providing industry leading ripple of 0.025% and stability of <0.1% per 8 hrs.

The XRV offers active power factor correction circuitry reducing input current requirements while minimizing line-related EMI. Spellman's proprietary inverter topology and allows for unprecedented efficiencies and power densities. A solid encapsulated high voltage section reduces size and weight, provides reliable, maintenance-free operation and allows for unprecedented efficiencies and power densities.

DSP-based SMT control circuitry provides your choice of standard USB, Ethernet, or RS232 along with analog interfacing, simplifying OEM system integration. The two DC output, current-regulated filament power supplies are controlled via sophisticated emission current regulation circuitry to provide accurate and stable X-Ray tube currents. Comprehensive fault diagnostic circuitry, and Arc Sense, Arc Quench and Arc Count Functionality are also incorporated into this compact, space-saving X-Ray generator.

Control of the XRV can be achieved via a full feature analog interface, or any of the three standard digital interfaces provided. A Visual-Basic GUI is made available for remote RS-232/USB operation; the Ethernet interface has an embedded applet for control. Many power supply options have been made available to the user and are fully configurable via the provided software.
