Clovis, CA - Pelco is pleased to announce that its new Spectra IV IP high-speed P/T/Z camera dome system featuring H.264 compression is now available and shipping.
According to company officials, Spectra IV IP technology gives users the flexibility to select MJPEG, MPEG4 or industry-leading H.264 compression. Compared to MPEG4 compression, H.264 dramatically reduces bandwidth consumption and storage requirements while providing superior image quality.
"By adding our new Spectra IP TXB-N cartridge into an existing Spectra IV analog dome system, customers can utilize IP video with H.264 compression without losing analog viewing and control," says Pelco Senior Product Manager, Brian Lane. H.264 compression translates into less burden on the network with its much smaller bandwidth requirements. Less drive space is also needed for recording and storing video, and even though the H.264 files are smaller, they have much better image quality than other compression formats.
