MT9928 Gravity Handler, ecoAmp Contactor and Multitest PCB
Rosenheim, Germany: Multitest, a designer and manufacturer of final test handlers, contactors and load boards used by integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) and final test subcontractors worldwide, announces that its MT9928 gravity handler ideally supports the special features of the recently launched ecoAmp Kelvin contactor. Field proven temperature performance and highest positioning accuracy ensure cost-efficient and reliable tri-temp testing as well as highest test yield.
The MT9928 features leading thermal performance across the entire range from -55° to 155°C. Temperature accuracy of ±2.0°C and stability of ±0.5°C are proven by numerous installations at high-volume production sites. Soaking will never experience bottlenecks with the MT9928: if the large soak capacity is not sufficient, a soak booster is available that cuts the soak time by 50 percent. Larger packages - often seen for power ICs - will benefit directly from this.
Power ICs also often require Kelvin testing that only can result in high yield if the device-under-test (DUT) can be positioned very accurately into the contactor. The MT9928 fully supports this advanced requirement of Kelvin testing.
High power ICs are the enabler for many state-of-the art electronics that are used for automotive and electro mobility applications in the energy and industrial sectors, for lighting (LEDs), or for power control and management. Due to these applications, they combine the requirements for high power of 500 A and more with tri-temp test. Typical package types include TO, SO, QFN, DPAK and power modules. Commonly these packages are delivered in tubes. With an installed base of more than 950 handlers, the MT9928 is the most established handler for tube feed.
