Vectron International Announces New Family of High Performance SAW IF Filters

Specifically Designed and Optimized for Emerging LTE Applications

MUNICH, GERMANY - Vectron International, a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of Precision Frequency Control and Timing Solutions, today announced its new family of SAW IF Filters. The new range of IF Filters are specifically optimized to support Transceiver and Repeater designs in emerging LTE applications. Vectron will be showcasing its new SAW IF Filters in Hall B5, Booth 237 at electronica 2010, from November 9-12.

The move to 4G access technologies such as LTE has brought the promise of dramatically increased data rates. These increased data rates create a need for more bandwidth in the radio, posing challenges for radio designers. Radio designers require high performance filters with low pass band distortion to ensure high levels of signal integrity for the best possible transmission quality. However, maintaining excellent amplitude and phase and group delay linearity is becoming more challenging as system bandwidths increase to match the rising data rates.

Vectron's family of high performance SAW IF filters are designed to maintain superior transmission quality over increased bandwidths. To address the variety of LTE deployment types, the new filters can be customized for center frequencies ranging from 50MHz to 1GHz and different bandwidths from 3.5MHz to 75MHz.

"Vectron has an extensive SAW filter heritage, and we have always supported the wireless industry," said Alan Mond, vice president and general manager, communication business unit, Vectron. "As standards and access technologies have evolved, our filter offering has continued to adapt. We continue to help customers answer each new challenge."

The performance features of the new family of IF filters include the following:

o Covering all of the standard LTE bandwidths from 3.5 to 75MHz

o Center frequency from 50MHz to 1GHz

o >50% fractional filter bandwidth available

o Passband ripple typically 0.3dB or lower.

o Low insertions loss (5dB typical) solutions available.

In addition to IF filters optimized for LTE, Vectron also offers customers multi passband filters, along with innovative clock path technology including OCXOs TCXOs, XOs VCXOs, VCSOs and jitter attenuators that provide ultra low jitter timing solutions.

Vectron's IF filters are available direct at www.vectron.com or through an authorized Vectron representative. For more information on this or any other Vectron products please contact a customer service representative at 1-88-VECTRON-1.
