Built with 1U form factor, VMS-160 series open frame switching power supplies can output 160 W with 200 LFM forced air cooling or 100 W under convection-cooled conditions. Products, approved to medical EN60601-1 and ITE EN60950-1 safety standards, operate from universal input (90-264 Vac) and provide single output voltages of 5/12/24/48 Vdc. Along with 18 W/in³ power density, series offers active PFC function, 90% typical efficiency, and 12 V auxiliary fan output.

High Density Switcher Supplies 160 W in a 2" x 4" Package

V-Infinity, a division of CUI Inc, introduces a series of high density, medically approved open frame switching power supplies. The VMS-160 series outputs 160W with 200 LFM forced air cooling or 100W under convection-cooled conditions. This translates to a power density of 18 W/in³ in a 1U, industry standard, 2" x 4" footprint. The power supplies are approved to both medical EN60601-1 and ITE EN60950-1 safety standards. This series excels at delivering high power in a low profile package (1.06" height), making it ideal for applications where space is limited and energy efficiency is a high priority.
The VMS-160 series offers universal input (90~264 Vac) and single output voltages of 5, 12, 24, and 48 Vdc. Other features include built-in active PFC function, 90% typical efficiency, and a 12 V auxiliary fan output. Operating temperature is from 0° to 50° C and protections include over-temperature, over current, and over-voltage. The VMS-160 series are available now and cost $101.20 in 100 piece quantities.
