9250HV-Helmet Tester

Instron, a leading provider of testing equipment solutions designed to evaluate mechanical properties of materials and components, introduces the new 9250HV-Helmet Tester (HT), designed to identify how the helmet will distribute the shock and absorb the energy from an impact test.

Ideal for industrial and athletic helmets, the 9250HV-HT performs full impact tests, and has the capability to perform shock attenuation and force transmission tests when outfitted with the appropriate head forms.

One option for capturing the impact for reanalysis is to add a high speed video camera to the 9250HV-HT. Once the test is recorded, the user can slow down the video and watch as the actual impact occurs - not just the result of the impact. In addition, when used with Instron's Impulse(TM) Software, the output data can be synchronized with the video. With side-by-side screens, this allows the user to watch the software plot the data while the test is occurring.
