August 24, 2004 - Designed for use on complex contoured workpieces, WPR-D Insert has free cutting geometry and helical cutting edge that results in incremental entry of cutter, reducing vibration for soft, peeling cut. Due to penetration, cutting edges are always under load for increased stability and further reduced vibration. Equal cutting forces enable milling operations with greater chipping depth and higher chip removal rates with less wear.

LMT-Fette's New WPR-D Helical Ball Nose Insert Reduces Vibration for Long Tool Life and Excellent Surface Finishes

Cleveland, OH - (August 23, 2004) The helical-shaped, extremely free cutting geometry of LMT-Fette's new WPR-D Helical Ball Nose Insert provides for a long tool life and excellent surface finishes.

The WPR-D Insert was designed in response to problems associated with machining complex contoured workpieces. The use of traditional inserts with straight cutting edges typically results in high and unequal cutting forces, as well as strong vibration, shorter tool life and slower feed rates. LMT-Fette engineered the WPR-D as a solution for this cutting challenge. The WPR-D's helical cutting edge results in incremental entry of the cutter and significantly reduces vibration for a soft, peeling cut. Due to penetration, WPR-D cutting edges are always under load for increased stability and further reduced vibration.

The low and equal cutting forces of the WPR-D enable milling operations with greater chipping depth and higher chip removal rates with less wear.

LMT-Fette blends precision European engineering with application expertise, resulting in advanced metalworking solutions that increase uptime, productivity and product quality.

LMT-Fette will continue to be at the forefront of metal cutting technology with its new milling, turning, tapping, thread rolling and gear cutting products.
