April 25, 2002 - Miniature heat-shrinkable molded shapes fit circular connectors and provide effective protection and strain relief. Available in choice of materials, with optional adhesive lining for environmental sealing, molded parts have operating temperature range from -55 to 200 deg C and are installed by heat-shrinking over leads and connectors to apply strain relief to wires down to 2.1 mm dia. Applications include commercial, industrial, autosport, and communications.

New Line Of Heat-Shrinkable Shapes Supports Smaller Connector Designs


HARRISBURG, Pa., April 5 - Tyco Electronics has launched a new range of miniature heat-shrinkable molded shapes designed to fit smaller circular connectors and provide effective protection and strain relief.

Manufactured in a choice of materials, with the option of an adhesive lining for environmental sealing, these shapes are compatible with the requirements of a wide range of applications in the commercial, industrial, autosport and communications markets.

The new miniature molded parts have a wide operating temperature range from - 55°C to +200°C and are installed by heat-shrinking over leads and connectors to apply permanent strain relief to wires down to 2.1mm diameter. They are lightweight, yet rugged, and provide durable high integrity protection in applications as diverse as audio equipment connectors and the AS style connectors used in autosport.
