November 19, 2003 - Portable Battery-Powered Heat Gun, Model MCH-100 has passed Mil-Std-810 F Explosive Atmosphere Test for N-Hexane and JP-5 Aviation fuel. Featuring interchangeable heating elements from 200-400 W, and variety of nozzles, gun can reach temperatures up to 1,100°F. Built-in motor with fan provides 2.66 cfm air flow. Model MCH-100 is suited for installing heat shrinkable tubing, soldering, and welding plastic parts in remote locations.

Battery Powered Heat Gun Approved For Use Around Fueled Aircraft


A fully portable heat gun kit which has passed the Mil-Std-810 F (511.4) Explosive Atmosphere Test for N-Hexane and JP-5 Aviation Fuel, making it effective for various types of battle damage repairs, is being introduced by Malcom Hot Air Systems of Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

The Malcom MCH-100 Portable Battery Powered Heat Gun Kit is designed for installing heat shrinkable tubing, soldering, and welding plastic parts in remote locations. Ideally suited for battle damage repairs, this battery powered heat gun can be used in and around fueled aircraft, ships, and other vehicles where N-Hexane, JP-5 jet fuel, or equivalent vapors are present.

Featuring interchangeable heating elements from 200 to 400 Watts, and a wide variety of nozzles for many applications, the Malcom MCH-100 Portable Battery Powered Heat Gun can reach temperatures of up to 1100°F and has a built-in motor with a fan to provide 2.66 CFM air flow. The gun weighs less than a pound and the 48V rechargeable battery pack is only 10 lbs.

The Malcom MCH-100 Portable Battery Powered Heat Gun Kit is priced from $3,495., depending upon nozzle types. Literature is available on request.
