UltiMount(TM) Coastal Post Mount Meets AC174, Works with Most Post Systems and Withstands Harsh Environments
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio, April 6 /-- American Way Manufacturing (www.americanwaymfg.com) introduces a universal post mount for decking that meets AC174 performance guidelines and is engineered for long-life in harsh environments. Meeting AC174 is assurance that UltiMount(TM) Coastal post mounts conform to structural load ratings and deflection performance criteria of applicable building codes and testing methods for guardrail/handrail strength.
UltiMount(TM) Coastal is a heavy-gauge steel post-mounting system that works with most brands of vinyl and composite railing posts. The 42-inch tall model is made from square 10-gauge steel stock. The 36-inch tall model is made from square 13-gauge steel stock.
Coastal post mounts are suitable for installation on all decking surfaces including wood, composite, vinyl and concrete. Each post comes as a complete kit that includes post sizing stabilizers, a bottom stabilizer plate and all necessary hardware for anchoring and leveling. Units are shipped in individual boxes and include decorative PVC base trim.

The protective process begins with hot-dip galvanizing that coats all interior and exterior steel surfaces. Then the Rust Eliminator treatment is applied to the outer surface for an added layer of protection that is self-healing.
AC174 is the Acceptance Criteria for Deck Board Span Ratings and Guardrail Systems as determined by ICC Evaluation Service, Inc. ICC-ES evaluation reports provide evidence that products and systems meet code requirements.
