Klein Tools Launches New Line of Hard Hats and Caps

LINCOLNSHIRE, ILL - July 2008 - Klein Tools recently launched a new line of hard hats and caps which includes the V-Gard® cap and hat (Cat. Nos. 60016-60024 for caps, 60028-60036 for hats), Advance® cap (Cat. Nos. 60025-60027), Skullgard® cap and hat (Cat. Nos. 60037, 60038) and Western Outlaw Hat (Cat. No. 60039). The new line of hard hats and caps provide a variety of Klein Tools logo branding and color choices as well as four-point Fas-Trac® ratcheting suspension.

The V-Gard is designed with a polyethylene shell with four-point Fas-Trac ratcheting suspension. Its standard size fits head sizes six through eight. Cap and full-brim hat styles are available with a selection of white, yellow and blue shell colors. Branding choices include plain front, Klein Tools lineman logo and Klein Tools standard logo. All V-Gard helmet backs contain the Klein logo with an American flag. This Type 1 helmet meets or exceeds ANSI Z89.1-2003 and CSA Z94.1-2005 specifications for Class E.

Featuring a vented style which provides cooling vents, the Advance cap allows for improved air circulation and comfort. Its Glaregard(TM) under the brim reduces reflective glare. Lateral contours above the ear enable easy integration of hearing protection. The Advance cap's lightweight design supplies added comfort. Available in white, yellow, and blue, the cap has a plain front with Klein Tools' logo and American flag on the back. This Type 1 helmet meets or exceeds ANSI Z89.1-2003 and CSA Z94.1-2005 specifications for Class C.

The heavy-duty construction of the Skullgard cap and hat is for use in steel mills and other heavy industries where elevated temperatures are common. It has a resin shell with four-point Fas-Trac ratcheting suspension. Designed in a traditional tan color, the Skullgard is available in cap and hat styles. The Skullgard cap and hat Type 1 helmet meets or exceeds ANSI Z89.1-2003 and CSA Z94.1-2005 specifications for Class G.

With a wide brim and comfortable Western-style design, the stylish Western Outlaw hat in classic tan color provides protection from the sun, rain, heat and glare. It also meets or exceeds ANSI Z89.1-2003 and CSA Z94.1-2005 specifications for Class E.

"Klein's V-Gard, Advance, and Skullgard expand the diversity of certified products in Klein's personal protective equipment category," said Chris Niklas, product manager, Klein Tools. "The new line of hard hats, caps and accessories, which include visors, face shields, hood liners and sound protection, ensure efficient head protection with ratcheting suspension and heavy-duty construction."

The V-Gard, Advance cap and Skullgard meet or exceed specifications for their class and are third party certified by the Safety Equipment Institute.
