March 17, 2011 - Powered by 9 V battery that lasts 50 hr at normal background levels, DX-1 and DX-2 detect gamma, beta, and X-ray radiation for Homeland Security as well as environmental and industrial contamination applications. Products use Geiger-Mueller tube detector and offer one-button operation. Warnings are provided via compressed-scale meter and audible clicks from internal speaker. Alarm triggers when radiation levels exceed 10 mR/hr, increasing in frequency in proportion to radiation level.

Accurate, quick and easy field testing for radiation exposure

Hand held radiation meters lets user know if they are exposed to harmful radiation. The DX-1 and DX-2 line of affordable hand-held portable radiation meters are small enough to go anywhere, yet sensitive enough to detect minuscule amounts of gamma, beta or X-rays including the types released by nuclear power plants such as iodide and cesium. They are ideal for Homeland Security and detecting environmental / industrial contamination. Designed for everyone they use a Geiger-Mueller tube detector and an easy use one-button operation. Warnings are audible clicks from an internal speaker and by the compressed-scale meter. Powered by a 9-Volt battery, included, which lasts 50 hours at normal background levels. An alarm is triggered when radiation levels exceed 10mR/hr, increasing in frequency in proportion to the radiation level. An LED indicator alerts you of battery condition upon each use.

Each meter includes an instruction manual that contains basic operating information and information on the various types of radiation. These are qualities instruments will last many years. Each unit comes with a 3-year warranty on the electronics and a 1-year warranty on the tube! Any warranty work is covered directly through the manufacturer, Industrial Test Systems, Inc.
