Designed to help front-line field workers analyze network quality and locate faults, Model XG5050 performs network tests, data packet capture, traffic generation, cable tests, and BER testing for network layer 1, 2, and 3. Unit tests terminal mode, frame length, frame type, used ratio status, and optical power. Equipped with 4.3 in. color LCD with touch panel, portable device also conducts RFC-2544 benchmark tests including throughput, frame loss rate, latency, and back-to-back testing.

Handheld Gigabit Ethernet Tester Supports BER testing
Toronto, Canada - GAO Tek Inc. (www.GAOTek.com) has rolled out a handheld gigabit Ethernet tester for front-line field workers to analyze network quality and rapidly locate faults. The tester performs network tests, data packet capture, traffic generation, cable tests and BER testing for network layer 1, 2 and 3. It tests terminal mode, frame length, frame type, used ratio status and optical power. The tester also conducts RFC-2544 benchmark tests including throughput, frame loss rate, latency and back-to-back testing.
This Ethernet tester, model XG5050, identifies short circuits, open circuits and fiber optic cable length. It features a 4.3in color LCD with touch panel, smart navigation menus. The handheld tester provides test tools including port positioning, packet capture and loop back. It supports 128 sites full line rate 10/100/1000Mbps traffic transmission. This portable gigabit Ethernet tester has a large capacity memory for storage of settings and results. The firmware can be upgraded on-line. Test results can be shown as text or graphically. The meter ships with included jacket cover, tie-in protection, lanyard and stand for hands free viewing.
