Handheld Adjustable Light Source
Toronto, Canada - GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) has released its handheld adjustable light source with output power adjustable according to need. It is designed for fiber network installation, acceptance and maintenance. Used together with GAO's 5306 handheld optical power meter, it can transmit wave ID information and offers a quick and accurate testing solution on both single and multi-mode fiber.
This handheld adjustable light source, model 5205, operates at wavelengths of 1310/1550 nm and 1310/1490/1550/1625 nm and uses an FP-LD emitter. The compact light source's modulation frequencies are CW, 270 Hz, 330 Hz, 1 kHz and 2 kHz. Its unique intelligent backlight control greatly reduces power consumption by adjusting the light intensity according to ambient light. The light source is powered by 8.4 V AC adapter or 3 AA 1.5V alkaline batteries for 45 hours continuous operation. It also has a low battery indication function. FC and PC adapters are available. In addition, it keeps stability at 0.15 dB/30 min at 20 °C.
