Introducing the New EDXpert Hand-Held XRF Analyser Gun from Torontech

Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) technology has a wide application. EDXRF analysers can be used in the mining industry to quality control industry. Hand-held XRF analysers are very popular because of the accuracy and portability. The EDXpert hand-held XRF analyser from Torontech incorporates the accuracy of bench-top models into an ergonomic and portable design.

The main advantage hand-held XRF analysers offer is the ability to take the EDXRF technology with the operator into the field and perform on-site analysis. With this key point in mind, the EDXpert XRF gun was designed to operate (under normal usage) a full 8 hours before charging is required. This minimizes downtime for the analyser and allows the greatest efficiency for performing tests.

The EDXpert hand-held XRF analyser gun from Torontech operates at a high voltage of 40 kV but also can be set up for 50 kV. It has a detectable range of Cl to U. Not only this, but an additional option can be included to expand the detectable range to the light elements, resulting in a detectable range of Mg to U.

With the onboard touch-screen portable computer, the functionality of the EDXpert is increased to some simple data processing. Combine this with a laptop or PC, the EDXpert is transformed into a laboratory grade instrument. For higher volume testing, an optional stand can be used in conjunction with the hand-held analyser to become a bench-top analyser.
