Siemens Improves Temperature Control With New RWD Series Universal And Heat Pump/ Refrigeration Controllers

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill., April 5, 2005- Siemens Building Technologies, Inc. has introduced a new family of RWD Series HVAC controllers.

RWD Series Controllers are non-communicating, electronic HVAC devices with a large LCD display to view setpoint, temperature and output characteristics.

RWD Series controllers are ideal replacement for old pneumatic HVAC control systems. Each controller has pre-programmed applications for quick setup of parameter settings for optimum and reliable energy conservation.

A special feature of the RWD controller family is the ability to use 1000 ohm nickel, 1000 ohm platinum or a 0 to 10 Vdc input sensor for application flexibility.

The RWD controller family includes a UL approved 120/24 Vdc power transformer with LED indicator and integral self-resetting primary fuse, plus plug-in terminals to simplify wire terminations for powering the controller and optional time clock. The digital time clock has eight daily switch events to switch HVAC systems on and off for control of setback periods and nights/ weekends. An LCD display provides a view of time and program status. RWD controllers are enclosed in a UL-approved plastic housing with quick-disconnect wire termination blocks.

A Windows®-based RWD parameter adjustment tool simplifies start-up and commissioning of the RWD Controllers. It also includes a complete reference library of technical instructions, commissioning guides, and application sheets.

Siemens HVAC controllers, as well as the full line of Siemens HVAC sensors, valves, actuators and building control systems are available through hundreds of Siemens Building Technologies local offices, drive reps and Staefa Control System dealers.
