4G Systems Introduces the Next Generation of HSDPA Terminals at the 3GSM

HAMBURG, Germany, February 9 -- The Hamburg company 4G Systems GmbH will present its next product generation at this year's 3GSM in Barcelona (February 12 - 15 2007, Hall 2, booth 2G07). The new 3.6 Mbit/s speed HSDPA router, which already supports 7.2, will be introduced, as well as the HSDPA XSPlug(R)P4, which is especially light as a result of its fine design. The devices are even faster and more capable thanks to the next generation HSDPA. As sole German manufacturer of HSDPA mobile terminals, the company has thus set a further milestone for mobile operators.

The HSDPA XSBox(R) R4v means there is always a HotSpot nearby. This high-speed Internet access is ideal for small teams and families, as it is possible to use several PCs or notebooks simultaneously. Connection via WLAN or Ethernet (LAN) enables simple operability of the 4G XSBox(R) R4v, independent of the operating system. As a result, immediate Internet surfing is possible, since no software needs to be installed. The HSDPA capable XSBox(R) R4v has a download speed comparable to that of DSL. "Being selected as 'most innovative product 2007' at this year's CeBIT shows that we are on the right path with our products. At the press conference before the CeBIT, in which 400 journalists took part, we were chosen second place," states a delighted Jorg Lehnich, VP Marketing & Sales, 4G Systems GmbH.

At 3.6 Mbit/s, Internet access and other mobile data applications reach speeds similar to that of downloads over a DSL fixed-line connection. A download rate of up to 7.2 Mbit/s is in preparation.

The HSDPA XSPlug(R) P4 has a perfect design and is extremely small and light. With a simple movement of the hand - a push of a button will do - the user is immediately online and can browse the Internet via a PC or notebook.

The included software for Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Apple Mac OS X
10.3 to 10.5 installs itself directly from the device, needing no CD-ROM.
While traveling, the user has everything he needs. Features like sending and receiving text messages, displaying the time online, download capacity, reception strength and data access round out the product.

"The 4G HSDPA XSPlug(R) P4 wins people over through its modern design and easy operation. That is what our customers say. In this way surfing the Internet is simply fun," states an enthusiastic Achim Schaller, Chief Operating Officer of 4G Systems GmbH.

The 4G XSJack(R) T2 is the mobile "telephone jack", and offers an extremely high amount of flexibility and independence from the standard home telephone network. With this product the company completes its product portfolio. The XSJack(R) T2 can be put into operation immediately after purchase.

As a result, long waiting times that often occur during the installation of a landline network connection disappear, even in places where no fixed network connection is currently possible, such as weekend cottages or ships.

The XSJack(R) T2 connects stationary analog telephones with the GSM mobile network. With it, typical end devices and their accessories such as fax or answering machines can continue to be used, without forgoing the advantages of the GSM mobile network. Apart from that, the XSJack(R) T2 offers a PIN-protected telephone connection with the proven comfort functions of the mobile phone - the integrated mailbox, for example.

"With the XSJack(R) T2 end customers finally have the possibility of using attractive mobile network tariffs, and are no longer dependent on high landline network fees and installation costs. It is a truly attractive alternative to a landline connection," says Achim Schaller, Chief Operating Officer of 4G Systems GmbH.

4G Systems develops various mobile end devices and applications based on assorted mobile network standards, in particular HSDPA. These products include PC cards for laptops and USB adapters for desktops. The company is one of five such developers and manufacturers worldwide and all production takes place in Germany.
