KVMSwitchTech is Announcing a New 4x4 HDMI Matrix Switch with HDBaseT Functionality for Budget Conscious Customers
Press release date: February 18, 2014
KVMSwitchTech’s new HDMICAT-44-HDB continues their strong tradition of feature packed Matrix Switchers.
Video Matrix Switches are one of the most vital components for distributed media and entertainment lifestyle. One of the biggest limitations facing the High Definition video market is the cable length and cost of HDMI products. The HDBaseT standard has been instrumental in mitigating those restrictions and KVMSwitchTech’s HDMICAT-44-HDB makes full use of these features. Unlike a standard HDMI Matrix Switch that relies on expensive external extenders to make the long runs to displays distributed throughout a facility, the HDMICAT-44-HDB has HDBaseT extension built into the transmitter unit. It is also paired with 4 HDBaseT receivers that can be connected to remote displays using inexpensive long runs of standard Category 6 cable (up to 330 feet from the base unit). Each receiver includes an independent zone remote control for selecting the input source without having to go near the Matrix Switcher itself. They also have Infra-red Emitter that allows the independent control of each source device from each remote location. This changes the experience from passive viewing to a fully controlled entertainment environment.
The HDMICat-44-HDB also includes an RS232 port for local control using a computer. Unlike other HDMI Matrix Switches with integrated HDMI extenders, this device comes with everything necessary for a complete configuration out of the box. Installers do not have to worry about how many receivers to buy or whether there will be compatibility issues with the receivers.
