HYG Guided Hygienic Actuator

Indianapolis, IN - SMC Corporation of America, the world's largest manufacturer of pneumatic automation products is proud to announce the release of the Guided Hygienic Actuator, Series HYG. This actuator provides the high loading capabilities of a guided cylinder and can also be used in hygienic washdown applications or in applications where the cylinder is exposed to liquid.

Hygienic applications include food-processing machinery, bottling machinery, or other applications that require the cylinder surface to be wiped down. (Please note that SMC's HY series cylinders should not be used in locations defined as "Food Zone" areas.) In addition to washdown capabilities, this actuator also has excellent resistance to water, machining coolant, and many other liquids. The HYG series outperforms traditional cylinders when liquids make direct contact with the sliding parts of the cylinder.

Standard features include multiple porting locations (top porting or side porting), a rail-mounted hygienic auto-switch for improved washdown capabilities, and guide rods that are completely recessed within the cylinder guide body. This cylinder is currently available in 6 bore sizes ranging from 20mm to 63mm with standard stroke lengths up to 200mm.

SMC Corporation manufactures high quality actuators and cylinders, airline and air preparation equipment, high-purity products, vacuum components, instrumentation, and a host of fittings and accessories applicable to the pneumatic automation industry. SMC has a total of 14 production facilities, 3 of which are in North America -Indiana, California, and Ontario, Canada. SMC's global presence enables it to provide quality customer service in any part of the world.
