Bryant Introduces Ground Fault Sensing Module for Use with Magnetic Branch Circuit Breaker

MILFORD, Conn., April 12, 2007 - Bryant® introduces a new ground fault sensing module that functions interdependently with a magnetic branch circuit breaker. The module monitors the electrical circuit by use of an external differential current transformer. With the new Bryant GFCI solution, no direct load is present at the module and, in the event of a ground fault, the load is interrupted by way of the hydraulic magnetic circuit breaker utilizing a shunt trip coil. The new Bryant system is ideal for portable generator integration protecting all outlets on a generator.

Bryant's line of sensing modules is rated from 1 to 15 Amps and circuit-carrying conductors from 1 to 3 poles. The product is available with an automatic or manual "safe start" reset feature. When mounted with the supplied gasket, the enclosure achieves a UL NEMA 4X Rating.

Bryant's system also meets the proposed requirements for generators UL Standard 2201 and is UL/cUL 943 Listed and UL 1053 compliant. In addition, the sensing module meets OSHA 29CFR 1926.404 for GFCI people protection on portable or vehicle mounted generators.
