Employing hydro-flushing and air infusion to aid organic separation, ARRA-compliant PISTA® TURBO(TM) Grit Washer uses Tri-Cleanse Technology(TM) to produce clean grit while minimizing odor. Custom-engineered screw further cleans grit through additional agitation, and dedicated PLC provides all necessary control functions for proper operation. System shows less than or equal to 5% putresible material in washed grit and less than 10% water content in washed grit.

Smith & Loveless Introduces New PISTA® TURBO(TM) Grit Washer With Tri-Cleanse Technology(TM)
LENEXA, Kan. - Smith & Loveless Inc. introduces its new PISTA® TURBO(TM) Grit Washer with Tri-Cleanse Technology(TM), the newest addition to the PISTA® Grit Removal System family. This new breakthrough in grit washing boasts grit retention of 95 percent down to 140 mesh particle size, and drier, cleaner grit with less putrescible organic material.
The PISTA® TURBO(TM) Grit Washer uses Tri-Cleanse Technology(TM) to produce clean grit while minimizing odor and the costs associated with growing landfill restrictions. Smith & Loveless' PISTA® TURBO(TM) Grit Washer featuring Tri-Cleanse Technology(TM) boasts a sleeker design and maintains a smaller total footprint compared to bulkier European-style grit washers. It can also be retrofitted in the place of traditional screw classifiers and conveyors for municipalities seeking process upgrades. As with all Smith & Loveless products, the PISTA® TURBO(TM) Grit Washer is made in America and ARRA compliant.
The PISTA® TURBO(TM) Grit Washer with Tri-Cleanse Technology(TM) features intense hydro-flushing and high air infusion to aid in organic separation, as well as a custom-engineered and patented screw to further clean grit through additional agitation. A dedicated PLC controller provides the necessary control functions to properly operate the PISTA® TURBO(TM) Grit Washer through its various cycles, and to control the operation of the air infusion, grit wash water and spray water. In recent field tests, the PISTA® TURBO(TM) Grit Washer shows less than or equal to five percent putresible material in washed grit, less than 10 percent water content in washed grit, passes a paint filter test and has grit retention of 95 percent down to 140 mesh particle size.
