Gripping Rails with Clamps improve holding force.
November 16, 2001 - Pitbull Gripping Rails, with built-in clamps, maintain parallelism on non-ferrous or ferrous parts. Their asymmetric design allows for precision tolerances. Pitbull Gripping Rails also improve holding force of magnetic chucks when used to hold difficult or irregularly shaped ferrous workpieces. They allow users to add extra steel blocking to increase resistance against sliding, and can hold large workpieces in position by utilizing multiple rails.

Now You Can Hold Non-Ferrous And Ferrous Magnetic Workpieces On Magnetic Chucks During Grinding And Milling With New Walker Pitbull(TM) Gripping Rails With Clamps
Trying to hold non-ferrous workpieces on a magnetic chuck, such as stainless steel, brass, plastic or other stock, while maintaining parallelism, has always been a problem in grinding and milling operations.
Now, the problem has been solved. O.S. Walker has developed and introduced a simple solution. New Walker Pitbull Gripping Rails with built-in clamps are the ideal answer. Easy to use, they maintain parallelism on non-ferrous or ferrous parts.
Here's how Pitbull works. Simply position the workpiece on to a Walker permanent magnetic chuck, such as a Ceramax. Place the Pitbull Gripping Rail against the workpiece and activate the magnet. The Pitbull Gripping Rail is now locked into position. Move the clamps along the rail to accommodate the size of the workpiece. Once the clamps are in position, tighten them. You can achieve precision tolerances because of the downforce generated by the asymmetrical design of the Pitbull clamps.
Pitbull Gripping Rails also improve the holding force of a magnetic chuck when used to hold difficult or irregular shaped ferrous workpieces.
They offer several additional advantages. They allow you to add extra steel blocking to increase resistance against sliding, and they make it easy to hold large workpieces in position by utilizing multiple rails.
