Castrol Launches Heavy-Duty Industrial Greases
Castrol Industrial Americas is proud to introduce the Castrol Molub-Alloy® 6040 family of heavy-duty calcium sulfonate greases for demanding industrial applications. Castrol Molub-Alloy 6040 greases may be used in journal or antifriction bearings in applications under extreme environmental conditions such as steel rolling mills and continuous casters.
Castrol Molub-Alloy 6040 greases are formulated with premium petroleum base oils using a unique calcium-complex sulfonate thickener. They are compounded with select additives for extreme pressure characteristics and thin-film, high-pressure, antiwear protection. The extreme pressure properties of Castrol Molub-Alloy 6040 greases are most evident in applications with frequent start-ups, slow speeds, or where high or unexpected heavy loads are commonplace.
Castrol Molub-Alloy 6040 greases provide superior mechanical stability. When mechanical shear is applied, their change in consistency is negligible. Castrol Molub-Alloy 6040 greases remain intact and do not thin out in high temperature applications.
Castrol Molub-Alloy 6040 greases resist corrosion, making them ideal for aggressive process water environments. Their strong resistance to oxidation allows them to remain pliable and prevent corrosive activity toward bearings and other lubricated components. Furthermore, Castrol Molub-Alloy 6040 greases do not wash out, even under adverse water contamination.
