NVIDIA Delivers World's Fastest 3D Accelerator for Remote & Distributed Visualization

NVIDIA Corp. further demonstrates its commitment to break through visual computing performance barriers with today's introduction of the new NVIDIAŽ QuadroŽ Plex 2200 S4 Visual Computing System (VCS), the world's fastest 3D accelerator for remote graphics visualization and rendering. Designed to address the most demanding remote graphics and offline rendering challenges, the Quadro Plex 2200 S4 VCS is available in a standard 1U form factor for large-scale server deployment delivering unprecedented performance and visual compute density for oil and gas exploration, medical imaging and styling and design applications.

"The Quadro Plex S4 2200 is our biggest generational leap in multi-GPU Quadro Plex technology to date," said Jeff Brown, general manager, Professional Solutions, NVIDIA. "Companies working with immense 3D datasets worldwide now have the flexibility to tap into the advanced visualization capabilities offered from the four Quadro FX 5800 GPUs in a single solution - no matter where they are located."

The Quadro Plex 2200 S4 enables breakthrough levels of processing power, capability and productivity. Containing four Quadro FX 5800 GPUs, Quadro Plex 2200 S4 enables graphics-intensive, high-density visual computing and scales to meet the most demanding professional applications requirements. Additional features include:

16 GB Total Frame Buffer - 4 GB per GPU: Delivers high throughput for interactive visualization of large models and high-performance for real time processing of large textures and frames, and enables the highest quality and resolution full-scene antialiasing (FSAA)

Breakthrough Visual Compute Density: The unmatched graphics compute per cubic centimeter provides highest visual compute density, enabling breakthrough levels of capability and productivity

NVIDIA CUDA(TM) Parallel Computing Processor: A parallel computing processor architecture with 960 CUDA parallel processing cores exposed through a C language environment and tool suite. In combination with high performance visualization, CUDA unleashes new capabilities to solve highly complex challenges such as real-time ray tracing, video encoding and interactive volume rendering

High Speed, PCI Express Data Transfer: With low latency and high bandwidth, computing applications benefit from the highest data transfer rate possible through standard PCI-Express x16 and x8 architecture

Highest Color Fidelity: A 10-bit per component color fidelity enables billions rather than millions of color variations for rich, vivid image quality with the broadest dynamic range

In addition, NVIDIA continues to deliver on its commitment to application developers with today's release of a new public NVIDIA NVScaleŽ 1.0 SDK, a toolset which allows developers to span all the GPUs seen by host system and easily scale application performance for large model rendering. The NVScale combined with the multi-GPU visualization on the four Quadro FX 5800 GPUs of the Quadro Plex 2200 S4, allows models to be accelerated up to 16-times faster, processing 1.2 giga triangles per second. This advanced performance enables massive datasets, which were previously thought to be too large for visualization, to be loaded and manipulated in real time. Pricing and Availability
The Quadro Plex 2200 S4 VCS is available in December 2008 at a MSRP of $14,995 USD. For more information on NVIDIA Quadro technologies and products, please visit: www.nvidia.com/quadro.
