Modular LED Goniometer Bench

May 7, 2008

Gigahertz-Optik's GB modular design goniometric bench is designed to perform pc remote controlled angular dependent light measurements of LEDs in conjunction with a standard optometer or light analyzer.

Rotary tables form the base of the GB system used for horizontal and axial rotation of the light source. GB modules include adapters for various types of LEDs that power and fixture the LED, enabling individualized measurement set-ups. The GBE-LTE light tight enclosure can be added for measurements outside the darkroom. The GB goniometer bench is used with a Gigahertz-Optik Optometer or Light Analyzer depending on the types of measurement data required. The X4 light analyzer provides luminous intensity and/or luminance data over a wide dynamic range as well as: Spectral distribution, peak wavelength, dominant wavelength, color temperature and color rendering index. For radiometric measurements the X4 covers a spectral range from 315nm to 1050nm.

For a lower cost set-up, the GB goniometer bench can be used with an optometer and photodetector configured for illuminance, luminance, luminous intensity and/or radiometric equivalents detectors.

Fully automated remote operation of the axial drive and instrumentation is controlled by the supplied GOOS light source evaluation software enabling stand-alone use or integration into the end-user system.
