Press release date: September 1, 2014

Gondola shelving systems have been a fixture (no pun intended) in supermarkets, drug stores and mass merchants for decades. Gondolas are the industry standard for product display because of their durability, ease of assembly and adaptability to a broad range of products and retailing niches.

As useful as Gondola units are for merchandising products, offering a variety of shelving options and pegboard walls for display hooks, they did not initially develop with signage as a top priority.  The price channel was certainly a clever innovation and supported labels, wobblers, aisle violators, etc.; however, signage options at the category and department levels evolved later. The solutions were often comprised of steel brackets that attached to the upright slots and then to elevated steel sign rails or frameworks to support canopies. They work well; however, they tend to be costly, time consuming to install and difficult to changeover.

Clip Strip Corp., a leader in POP store fixtures and inventors of the Clip Strip® Brand Merchandising Strip back in 1980, has developed a product that is giving brands and retailers alike, an affordable, quality option to communicate in a “BIG” way to consumers with signage that sits on the top caps of gondolas and end units.  Our Boot System™ features (2) powerful magnetic “boots” which support PVC channels that in turn, securely hold your signage. No tools needed. Setup and changeovers are a snap. Finally, the cost is a fraction of conventional gondola signage systems. Gondola signage has now come of age.

The Boot System™ also works with an array of racks and other steel display systems, such as the wide-span pallet racking used in the big discount chains. If you can use a magnet on it, you can use Clip Strip’s Boot System™.
