Heavy-Duty Generator Compressors Save Space and Money

Many spray foam companies, roofers and other contractors are still employing two separate pieces of equipment when they can get by with one. Specializing in industrial power solutions, Next Generation Power introduces a new, heavy-duty line of generator compressor combination units.

The advanced packages combine a commercial-grade, diesel-powered generator and industrial-duty compressor into one space-saving unit. Since both pieces of equipment run directly off the same engine, the packages are significantly smaller and more efficient than a traditional gen-set driving an electric-powered compressor. Since the engine-driven compressors have no massive startup loads, the gen-set can be downsized.

Measuring just 70" L x 30" W x 48" H and weighing only 1,850 lbs., the 4040 generator compressor produces 40 cfm of air with a low-speed, Schulz piston compressor or upgraded rotary screw compressor. Operating at a comfortable 1,800 rpm for a long life and quiet performance, the diesel-powered package creates 40 kW with a rugged, 4-cylinder, Kubota V-3300-T engine. Larger units employ John Deere power.

The state-of-the-art generator compressors have suggested prices starting at $7,000 for a 15 cfm 7 kW unit with larger sizes available. As pictured, the 4040 with rotary screw compressor sells for $18,900.

Additional options include air tanks, fuel tanks and specialty gauges.
