Light Weight Zero-Backlash Gearheads Ideal For Precision Factory Automation Applications

Harmonic Drive Technologies, a leading manufacturer of precision gear and servo actuators, introduces its new line of PSA-G harmonic drive gearheads. The gearheads are ideal for factory automation applications such as robotics and handling small components in the assembly process.

The gearheads are available in standard gear ratios ranging from 50:1 to 100:1. These compact, rugged gearheads are specifically designed to handle high axial and overhung loads. Maximum radial shaft loading of the gearheads is up to 52 kg (115 lb.). In addition, the gearheads are very compact, measuring as little as 33 mm (1.3") in diameter and 50mm (2") in body length.

Harmonic drive gearing is a precise, zero-backlash speed reduction system that delivers an accurate angular position and an extremely high input-to-output ratio (50:1 and up). The gearheads are also very light and compact for the large torque that they transmit.

Harmonic Drive Technologies of Peabody, Mass., is a leading manufacturer of harmonic drive gearheads, component gear sets and complete harmonic drive actuators for several industries, including: semiconductor, factory automation, medical and aerospace. Following the theme of lighter, smaller and stronger, Harmonic Drive Technologies supplies standard and custom harmonic drive gearing designed and constructed to minimize space while offering high-load and long-life characteristics.
