July 16, 2003 - Model DV-6S thermocouple gauge tube is for outdoor use on cryogenic tanks, including railcar and tanker-truck applications. O-ring-sealed cap protects gauge-tube pins from moisture, reducing corrosion. Metal lanyard prevents cap loss. Tube is provided with standard 1/8 in. NPT fitting. Gauge handles shock and vibration per MIL-STD-202 testing.

Teledyne Hastings Makes New Gauge Tube Available

HAMPTON, VA - Teledyne Hastings Instruments, a business unit of
Teledyne Instruments, recently introduced the DV-6S thermocouple
gauge tube. This new gauge tube is specifically designed for
outdoor use on cryogenic tanks including railcar and tanker
truck applications. The gauge tube is compatible with the
handheld HPM-4/6, the analog VT-6, as well as the new Digital
VT-6.

Extensive testing of mechanical shock: MIL-STD-202 Method 213
(>2000g, 6 msec duration), random vibration: MIL-STD-202 Method
214 (23.9 grms), and sinusoidal vibration: MIL-STD-202 Method
204 (30g at 3000 Hz) have shown this gauge tube to be well
suited for the severe environments encountered in many
applications.

The DV-6S is supplied with a protective cap. The o-ring-sealed
cap protects the gauge tube pins from moisture thus
significantly reducing corrosion. A metal lanyard prevents cap
loss. The tube is provided with a standard 1/8" NPT fitting,
however special fitting requests can often be met.
