Wasino's GG5 Twin Spindle Gang-Type Lathe Features Four-Axis Twin Slides for Maximum Productivity

Rolling Meadows, IL (November 8, 2002) - The twin spindle/twin slide combination of Wasino's GG5 lathe makes it ideal for high-speed A/B operations. This Wasino high speed, high productivity package comes in a small footprint.

The twin spindles both operate at up to 8000 rpm. Travel for X-axis (per slide) is 3.66": travel for Z-axis is 6.86" (per slide). Both axes feature rapid traverse rates of 600 ipm.

The GG5's SR-00 gantry loader further enhances cycle times. It features a Fanuc AC servo with vertical and horizontal rapid traverse rates of 3,200 and 4,356 ipm respectively. Loading/unloading time is 5 seconds.

The GG5 is equally effective in both stand-alone situations and when integrated into flexible transfer lines. For efficiency, a pre-engineered gantry loader is used, to load/unload, and a broad range of raw material supply devices are available. While featuring exceptionally small footprints, Wasino lathes are precise and powerful. Heavy cast iron beds with hardened and ground box ways and double sets of angular contact bearings ensure precision. The GG5 is built from the ground up for automation. Wasino's CNC control includes .00001" X and Z offset control capability to allow for finer adjustment of machining tolerances.

The GG5 is designed for secondary operations and powdered metal, die cast parts. cold head blank and hard turning applications.
